“The access to and time commitment of the high-level sales and marketing executives at Sony was very impressive. It gave us a real opportunity to present to them – and hear back from them – on something that actually mattered to them. And the take home prizes were not too shabby!!” |

“The structure of the Neeley MBA Case Competition takes you out of your comfort zone. In working with new people, you have to quickly come together as a team, and setting team goals and individual responsibilities just as if you were dropped into a real consulting engagement. I still keep in touch with all my team members from four other MBA programs. On the logistical front, everything was extremely well run. And our hosts took great care of us.” |

“What I liked most about the Neeley Case Competition was that I got to meet and work with different MBA students from around the U.S. The team I was placed in was comprised of 5 students from different schools, and today I remain in touch with mostly everyone on my team. Regarding the format of the competition, the final presentation in the board room environment with the Sony executives was exactly as you would expect in a professional setting. The case and social logistics were perfectly executed.” |

“The beauty of this case competition is that its structure was short and focused. It did not take away from other activities that 2nd Year MBAs have: internships, job search, papers, projects, etc. The Sony executives closed the loop on this real situation by disclosing the challenges they faced. Also, as the logistics were seamless, while there at Neeley in Fort Worth you did not have to worry about a thing. You just had to focus on the case.” |

“The Neeley MBA case competition that was sponsored by Sony was a great experience. If I were not in Barcelona for the Spring 2009 Semester, I would definitely be back this March 27-28. Working on an evolving product category for the world’s largest electronics company is a great resume builder. The product was one that we could relate to, so we felt that we were truly providing meaningful positioning inputs to Sony. Speaking of Sony, the high level execs who participated took the time to spend time with us. The whole experience helped me better understand ‘executive presence.’” |

“The Sony case situation was a current, real challenge and opportunity. The way the case competition was structured it did not require pulling an all-nighter, as some do; yet the learning and insight benefits were the same. We all had great interactions with the many high-level Sony execs in attendance. I learned a great deal about the organization in a short amount of time. Our team, comprised of MBAs from TCU, Indiana, Georgia Tech and Rice, was very fortunate to be selected the first-place winner. In the second year of my MBA at Haas, I am very much interested in a possible career with Sony; I am now following-up with those unique contacts I made at last year’s competition.” |

“A 9.5 out of 10! It was a great weekend from the time we arrived on Friday afternoon to Sunday morning. The students and staff at Neeley made us feel at home. What I liked best about this competition was the format of putting your marketing knowledge and experiences to the test on a current, real situation faced by Sony, with the time pressure of resolution with a team of strangers. It also was a lot of fun. There was plenty of time on Friday and Saturday nights to get to know one another. Joe T Garcia’s for the awards dinner was a great venue. Even though it was a bit on the cold side, it was fun being outside on the patio in the gardens. “ |
